Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

InfoPSP is a campus information, navigation and virtual-tour platform developed as a student project for Politeknik Seberang Perai. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the InfoPSP website or web application.

Information we collect

InfoPSP may store the name, email address, account role and registration number or staff ID supplied by a user. When Google is used to sign in, InfoPSP receives a Google account identifier, name, verified email and optional profile image. InfoPSP does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or calendars.

How information is used

Information is used to provide sign-in, display profiles, manage staff-access requests, enable issue reporting and protect administration areas. Data is not used for advertising or sold to another party.

Reports and user content

Issue reports may contain a location, category, description and image uploaded by a user. This content should only concern PSP facility conditions or information. Do not upload identity-card numbers, health information or another person’s private data.

Cookies, sessions and notifications

InfoPSP uses necessary session cookies to maintain sign-in, protect forms against attacks and remember language choices. Accessibility preferences may be stored on the device using browser local storage. If a user enables announcement notifications, InfoPSP stores the browser subscription endpoint and encryption keys required to deliver them. The subscription can be disabled at any time.

Retention and security

Data is retained for as long as needed for project operation and assessment. Passwords are hashed and Google credentials are kept as server secrets. Although reasonable safeguards are used, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Data sharing

InfoPSP does not sell user data. Data may only be viewed by authorized people operating the system, or disclosed where required by law or a valid institutional direction. Google processes authentication according to its own privacy policies.

Your choices and account deletion

Users can update their profile or delete their account through Profile Settings after signing in. Account deletion may not immediately remove records that must be retained for security, audit or institutional requirements. Google access can also be revoked through the user’s Google Account settings.
